Dental implants are metal anchors that act as tooth root substitutes. They are surgically placed into the jawbone. Small posts are then attached to the implant which protrude through the gums. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth.
Dr. Rose and Dr. Apgar have received extensive training in Implant Dentistry. They have been successfully placing implants since 1986. Through continuing education the doctors keep abreast of the most current information on implant dentistry.
The doctors of PIAGW routinely perform extractions, bone and gum reconstruction processes in preparation for placing dental implants. In fact, the doctors of PIAGW were the initial developers of what is now a world-wide, utilized bone reconstruction procedure.

The emphasis in Dr. Rose and Dr. Apgar's practice is on conservative periodontal therapy. Many times, the early stages of periodontal disease are best treated with nonsurgical periodontal therapy.
We believe in customized, patient-specific maintenance care programs. This is the case regarding “cleaning” frequency as well as clinical and x-ray examination frequencies. Similarly, programs for monitoring of gum recession and tooth position changes must be customized and established.
We pride ourselves on the fact that we are very conservative in our treatment recommendations and limit surgery to the areas where it is absolutely necessary. Periodontal procedures are available to regenerate the bone and gum tissue to their original function and cosmetic appearance.
