Dr. Rose, whose nickname is Tony, was born in Baltimore, MD. He attended the University of Maryland where he received a BS in Biochemistry in 1972 and his dental degree in 1976. After graduation, he was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, while serving in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps. After leaving the Air Force, he received his postdoctoral specialty training in Periodontology from the University of Pennsylvania. He also maintained a general dental practice in Philadelphia at that time. In 1980, he moved to Washington to join the faculty of Georgetown University Dental School and began practicing Periodontics, privately.
Dr. Rose continues to hold an Adjunct Clinical Professorship at the University of Pennsylvania where he lectures and trains dentists to become Periodontists and Periodontal-Prosthodontists.

Dr. Rose is married and has two daughters who are living their adult lives. He has many interests ranging from music to motorcycles, movies to dancing, computers to skiing and has a very active social life. Despite the diversity of interests, dentistry remains a primary focus of Dr. Roses life.

Dr. Apgar was born in Oklahoma City, OK in 1962. During her high school years she lived in Colorado, away from her family and home, to train as an ice skater. As she grew older, her interests and attentions shifted from ice skating to science.
Dr. Apgar received a BA in Anthropology from the University of Rochester in 1984. In 1988, she received her DMD (dental degree) from Boston University where she was valedictorian of her class. In 1990, Dr. Apgar received her post doctorate certificate in Periodontology and Oral Biology from Boston University while practicing dentistry and teaching at the dental school clinic.

Dr. Apgar is married and has two children - a daughter and a son. She spends most of her non-professional time enjoying family life. However, she spends as much time as she can spare on the golf course -- one of her many interests.
Dr. Apgar is active in national and local dental and periodontal societies.

Sandra Haskins
Sandra Haskins was born and raised in San Fernando, Trinidad. Sandras father is a dentist. Sandra was raised as a dental staff member and thus is well versed in dentistry. She moved to the United States in 1986.
Sandra received her Certified Dental Assistant certification, and Certified Dental Radiology certification in 1992. She was certified as an Expanded Duty Dental Auxiliary in 1993. Also, she was fully familiar with the administrative aspects of dental care. During the mid-1990s, she held both clinical and administrative positions in local dental practices before joining the PIAGW staff.

In February 1998, Sandra began working at PIAGW as a patient care and business administrator. She manages daily operational issues patient scheduling and, is in charge of PIAGWs maintenance care program, and provides internal accounting services for the practice.
Sandra is a barrel of laughs -- literally. She easily finds the humor in life. She is also a deliberate, careful employee who holds her responsibilities seriously.
Sandra is married and has a daughter. She is also the mother of a dog.

Margaret Wakeman
Margaret Wakeman was born and raised in England. She moved to the Washington, DC area in 1979.
In the early 1980s Margaret was employed by a local dental practitioner. That was the beginning of her dental career. In 1984 she became the first administrative staff member of the practice that was started by Dr. Rose in 1981.
Margaret manages patient scheduling and finances, and other general operational facets of the practice. Margaret has always been reliable, responsible and as dedicated to her responsibilities as she is the patients of PIAGW. She is also the official spokes-person for the practice due to her mellifluous voice and accent.

Margarets interests are eclectic. Some of her interests are cats, the Italian language, belly dancing, and yoga. .

Lia Pereira
Lia was born and raised in Brazilia, Brazil. She moved to the United States in 1988 and spoke no English at that time.
Lia joined PIAGW in 1997. She worked as an administrative assistant for three years. In May, 2000 Lia began training to become a dental assistant. She enrolled in school to become a certified dental assistant, and dental radiologist. She has been working towards her Bachelor's degree and hopes to have it completed soon. While being employed at PIAGW, Lia obtained her citizenship and has achieved the American dream of owning her own home.

Evelyn Wilson
Evelyn Wilson was born in Brandon, Mississippi. In 1995 she graduated, with honors, from The Medex School, where she received her training as a Chairside Dental Auxiliary. After six years of working in a general dental practice, Evelyn became a part of the PIAGW team. Evelyn is responsible for daily clinical operations, ranging from inventory management to equipment maintenance. In addition, she provides therapeutic services for patients in a most caring way.

Lynn Jarrard
Lynn is a native Washingtonian. She has resided in Montgomery County most of her life.
Lynn received her dental hygiene degree in 1994. She worked in one dental practice for ten years before joining PIAGW.
Lynn strongly believes in the value of dental health and the need to provide individualized care for each patient. To this end, she works hard to provide her patients with the best care available. She is a true master clinician.
Some of Lynns interests are water-color painting, yoga and enjoying nature with her Cocker-Spaniel. She is the mother of a son and is an active member of her community.

Shreeti Ruparelia
Shreeti was born and raised in Mombasa, Kenya. In 1989, she and her family moved to the Washington D.C. area.
Shreeti received her dental hygiene degree in 1999 from the University of Pittsburgh. She has practiced her profession since that time before joining the PIAGW team. Her diagnostic and therapeutic knowledge and skills are surpassed by none.
One of Shreetis interests is discovering and visiting new places. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Shreeti is a dedicated professional with an ever inquisitive mind. She loves challenges.

Lorraine Merriken
Lorraine grew up in the Silver Spring area of Maryland, and so claims herself a true Washingtonian. She currently enjoys dual residence in Bethesda and Annapolis.
Lorraine has worked in the dental field for nine years and has experience in General Dentistry as well as Periodontics. She earned her Certificates in Dental Radiology and Expanded Functions in1997.
At PIAGW she works in a clinical as well as an administrative capacity. She takes particular pride in going out of her way to make sure that each and every patient is treated with individualized care and made to feel genuinely special.
In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, biking and drawing. She also enjoys boating and exploring the Chesapeake Bay.
Lorraine has two grown children - a son and a daughter.
