Meet Georgann L. Apgar, D.M.D.

Dr. Georgann Apgar was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1962. She later relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she trained as an ice skater at the Broadmoor World Arena. Dr. Apgar earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Rochester in 1984. In 1988 Dr. Apgar earned her doctoral degree in Medical Dentistry from the Boston University Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry, graduating at the top of her class with many academic and clinical awards for excellence. After obtaining her doctoral degree, Dr. Apgar remained at Boston University to continue her post-doctoral studies, where in 1990 she earned her post-doctoral Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Periodontology and Oral Biology. During her graduate studies she practiced dentistry and volunteered teaching in the dental school clinic. Dr. Apgar joined PIAGW in 1991.

Dr. Apgar is married with two children. She spends much of her non-professional time outdoors enjoying equestrian events, hiking, and golfing. Dr. Apgar is active in numerous local and national dental professional organizations and enjoys lecturing in her spare time to local health care organizations.
