Dr. Karl A. Rose, whose nickname is Tony, was born in Baltimore, MD. He attended the University of Maryland where he received a BS in Biochemistry in 1972 and his dental degree in 1976. After graduation, he was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, while serving in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps. After leaving the Air Force, he received his postdoctoral specialty training in Periodontology from the University of Pennsylvania. He also maintained a general dental practice in Philadelphia at that time. In 1980, he moved to Washington to join the faculty of Georgetown University Dental School and began practicing Periodontics, privately.
Dr. Rose continues to hold an Adjunct Clinical Professorship at the University of Pennsylvania where he lectures and trains dentists to become Periodontists and Periodontal-Prosthodontists.
